Grandparents and Auntie

Time with family is so treasured!
(and as an added bonus,
RyDaddy and I get to enjoy a night of free babysitting
now and then when family is here.....
a luxury we don't often have!!!)
Unfortuntately,
all of our grandparents and aunties/uncles live too far away.....
especially Sampa & Meemaw--
(my dad and step mom from WA state)
but we sure enjoyed their visit!
(And they're not proud of their new grandson or anything like that!)
This adorable plaid overall Polo outfit is from Sampa, and he picked it out himself!
Little Miss Mae got a kick out of teasing Grandpa with her Tebow Jets shirt
last time RyDaddy's parents were here,
and she always manages to get Creamie to help her go exploring and adventuring outside!
And as far as Auntie Kara goes.....
K-Rae's shirt says it best: "My Aunt spoils me...."
Actually, we're all spoiled when she comes to visit.
She really had her hands full this past visit though!
Little Miss Mae wasn't about to be left out of the photo...
I told her she looked like one of the little dolls with only her head visible!
And you can imagine who bought this bib....."My Auntie Rocks!"
And Grandma Tree
(my mom....named this by K-Rae when she was younger,
as she couldn't say Grandma Cherie),
just headed home today after joining us for the weekend.....
Boy, Sammy sure loves his Grandma Tree,
and had lots of smiles for her
and even shared his first word "hi"
with her that he has been practicing lately!
Come visit again soon everyone!
And Auntie Sara and Uncle Johnny.....
K-Rae was wondering why you guys didn't
come down with Auntie Kara last time.......
and wants me to let you know you need to come visit again soon!

Little Miss Mae's Special Olympics Event 2012

It was a fun day for all.....
especially for Little Miss Mae!
(Thanks for letting me borrow this cool photo Auntie Kara:)

The event started with a parade by the participants,
and an Opening Ceremony including the running of the torch by the SWAT Team...
they started early and ran the torch and passed it off all the way from the Monument.

(Classroom viewing tip...the following video clip is a bit long, the others are shorter...)
Miss Laura's group at the Opening Ceremony....
Quick video clip of the torch lighting.....
A speech was given by Superintendent Steve Shultz.
Video Clip of the Releasing of the Doves....so neat to see!
K-Rae observing the festivities...
 ROAR!!!!
Little Miss Mae was so excited to see her family in the stands...
Quick video clip of that:
We were fortunate to have Auntie Kara's help for the event,
and to show extra support for Little Miss Mae as well----
so nice to have another family member
to cheer her on!
Yes, yes, Auntie Kara had her hands full!!!!
I don't think she minded though.....
Time for the RACE!
Little Miss Mae ditching her walker!
 On your marks....
 Get ready,
get set....
 GO!!!!!
I almost missed videoing the race,
as they switched directions the participants were running
at the last minute,
and Little Miss Mae was so fast!
Here's a quick video I captured at the end of the race though:

 Catching "butterflies."
 Loving the obstacle course....
Here's a quick video clip of Little Miss Mae doing the course
and walking all around the field!
Ms. Connie is such a good sport, and I bet she slept well after the event!

Rolling, rolling....
