K-Rae's 5th Birthday Celebration

A kiss from a dragonfly was the perfect start to her special day.

And once she figured out what it was,

provided lots of fun!

And then, per K-Rae's request, 

the big day continued with swimming with friends at the Rec Center.

 

 Sammy's first time to swim....

it wasn't really his favorite idea of how to spend nap time!

Pictured here with Miss Laci, our girls' babysitter, who saved the party by coming to help last minute.....
our planned party help from family fell through, due to Grandpa having to watch the Rockies, getting the stomach flu!   

Sammy appreciated getting out of the pool, more than being in the pool!  

Granted, it was pretty cold!!!

After wearing ourselves out swimming, 
 the party continued at our house awhile longer...

 Not sure who enjoyed the obstacle course more!

"Cake" idea modified from an idea off Pinterest...cake inside a cone.
(I cheated and filled the cones with Twinkies...the whip cream made them extra tasty and unhealthy...
but who ever said cake was supposed to be healthy, right???!)
Then the "cake" is covered with melted chocolate chips and sprinkles
and hardened in the fridge.
