Little Miss Sassy

What did you learn in Sunday School this week K-Rae?......
"I don't know, something about Jacob, but I have a rhinoceros on my head."
Yes, I see that......
God bless the Sunday School teachers!
(No, this wasn't our week as teachers!)

And the choice activity of this week.....
learning how to fly.......
(at least it burns some energy!)
And those of you that know K-Rae,
know that she pretty much talks non-stop....
even if there is no one to be talking to........
she is........still talking.
I'm really not sure if she ever even stops talking to breathe.
The only way I really survive this day in and day out is to sort of zone out.....
about 75% of what is being said.
So this morning in the middle of one of her rather lengthy explanations
(while I'm trying to cut waffles, clean up spilled coffee, and listen to the message someone is leaving on the answering machine)
K-Rae says, "Mom--are you listening to me???"
Busted......
Now, I'm pretty good at multi-tasking, but I do have my limits.
I reply,  "No, I didn't hear what you said, can you tell me again please?"
K-Rae: "Mom!  I've already told you twice and if I have to say it again,
my mouth will feel all blobbery!"
"All right then, I would hate to be the cause of a blobbery mouth....."
K-Rae: "OK then, I'll tell you, my waffles aren't ripe!"
OK...

So actually, she has stopped saying one word lately,
as I've banned this word from being a response to my directions......
so if she is asked to do something she doesn't want to do
(which is pretty much everything),
K-Rae now promptly goes to the art center,
grabs her sticky notes and comes back with this:
It seems she doesn't mind taking the time to actually form letters to write that word!
Other notes I get tend to look more like scribble scrabble,
and she wants me to actually write what they say.
Sometimes I am just supposed to figure it out,
and she'll be sure to tell me if I'm not figuring out her "writing" quite correctly.
On this note, she was kind enough to tell me what to write,
and was sure to let me know that Dora the Explorer had written this note:

And this is my new favorite song.....
it gets sung a lot lately when I make K-Rae's feelings "happy."

Another sweet song...
K-Rae came up with this one spontaneously when I asked her to sing me a song
so I could make a movie.....
I had to motivate her with a chocolate when she said she insisted she was "too shy!"
Apparently she became shy for 5 seconds of her life!
She calls this song "The First Star."

OK, one more video clip to include the doggie and Little Miss Mae in this posting
(sorry I can't hold the camera still for my moving targets):
