Welcome April

Oh yes, Grandma was here...for almost an entire week! The girls LOVE all the books she brought....and K-Rae especially loved wearing Grandma's glasses to read them!  I got spoiled with all the extra help!

K-Rae came back from one activity with Grandma wearing this rather interesting hat.  I asked her where she got it, she said, "A stranger gave it to me."  OK???......
Pretty cute hat, even if it did come from a stranger......Speaking of strangers, this has been the topic of conversation lately, not an easy lesson to teach our little social butterfly who has never known a stranger in her life.  She might be starting to get it though.....while we were eating at Honey Baked Ham a couple of days ago, I commented to another mom sitting at the table next to us, that her daughter's hair was so cute and asked her how she fixed it like that.  Kelsie turned and asked me, "Do you know her?"  "No."  "Well, then don't talk to strangers!"  What do you say to that???!!!!

Painting provided a great morning activity....I was even able to get the dishes done while the girls painted!  (Aunt Paula sent the sweetest spring/Easter package for the girls....they've been asking to paint ever since it arrived!)  At one point though, K-Rae's entire paint set ended up on the floor....fortunately they were washable paints!  As I was cleaning that up, I turned around to see K-Rae, who was now finished with painting, running stark naked around the room.  Apparently something about getting paint on her hands made her feel like getting naked....to each their own!

Little Miss Mae is taking her painting very seriously!  And she has been full of it this week too.  Last night, on her talker she told us, "I have the chicken pots," (chicken pox) and she pointed to a small cut on her finger.
And yes, the dog behavior continues.....We're going on about a year of this behavior......tell me, does this phase ever end, or at least the licking part of the phase?

To end the week.....we added a few munchkins for the afternoon, actually our godchildren.....my, they are growing up!  Apparently all of the elementary teachers needed a break today! I'm guessing that having a planning day on April Fool's Day really wasn't a coincidence...What you do you think?  Regardless, they all enjoyed watching Tangled--the girls new favorite movie.

Oh--and the news you've all been waiting for...the door prize winner(s)

  1. A week of great pictures! I like that crazy hat- kind of "Alice in Wonderland" style! :)
I love the dog world! I would live up having her do "tricks" as long as possible (much like a "secret mission" that I used to employ with Kara at that age!)
