Summertime Fun 2012: A visit from Daddy-O

Hard to believe one month of summer has already flown by!
We enjoyed a visit from my daddy.....
he is one studly dude on his new motorcycle;
and he rode that thing all the way out from Washington state!
Sammy and the girls sure enjoyed their Sampa!
We all had fun at Heritage Days at Cross Orchards Farm.
Also enjoyed a hike at the CO National Monument.
I even got to pretend I was pretty cool for little while!

Coming up next...pics from Little Miss Mae's Horse Camp
and guess who lost their first tooth???
Hint.....it's not Sammy!

Happy 13th Anniversary Ry-Daddy!

Between shuttling back and forth to Vacation Bible Schools, going to parties and having parties, keeping up with the therapy schedule for Little Miss Mae, taking care of little Sammy, and various fun summertime community events, those of you that have visited know that this is one cram packed summer schedule!  It's all good and well, but the extra minutes for blogging are few and far between (as is time for cleaning, doing laundry, grocery shopping, cooking, sleeping, eating, breathing, etc)! I've been wanting to share a couple of cute pics from the CATS presentation by our local community theatre club though.
Going to CATS was supposed to be a 13th anniversary date for RyDaddy and me---the girls weren't real disappointed about getting dressed up and tagging along for the date however!
Even Sammy got to be included as well!
The girls really loved the presenation, and we were glad that they got to see it with us!
Little Miss Mae informed us after the event, that she thought we were taking her to see a movie, so she was really surprised and awe struck by the live presentation, and I'm pretty sure K-Rae would like to be an actress in the next Theatre Club event!
The video clips below are just a few short snippets from the presentation.
We were really impressed by the quality of the performers....
this certainly won't be the last community club presentation we go to see!

K-Rae's 5th Birthday Celebration

A kiss from a dragonfly was the perfect start to her special day.

Check out these two birthday morning video clips below:

And once she figured out what it was,
the zoo travel play mat
made by Mama and Grandma Tree
provided lots of fun!
And then, per K-Rae's request,
the big day continued with swimming with friends at the Rec Center.

 Sammy's first time to swim....
it wasn't really his favorite idea of how to spend nap time!
Pictured here with Miss Laci, our girls' babysitter, who saved the party by coming to help last minute.....
our planned party help from family fell through, due to Grandpa having to watch the Rockies, getting the stomach flu!
Sammy appreciated getting out of the pool, more than being in the pool!
Granted, it was pretty cold!!!
Alligator fun!
After wearing ourselves out swimming,
the party continued at our house awhile longer...
Not sure who enjoyed the obstacle course more!

Let's Limbo!

"Cake" idea modified from an idea off Pinterest...cake inside a cone.
(I cheated and filled the cones with Twinkies...the whip cream made them extra tasty and unhealthy...
but who ever said cake was supposed to be healthy, right???!)
Then the "cake" is covered with melted chocolate chips and sprinkles
and hardened in the fridge.
Singing "Happy Birthday" video clip here:

Thank you Miss Laci!
These Color Wonder paints are awesome!
Tornado lab from Little Miss Mae...
Loving the pink elephant from her friend "A".

 What could this be?
Awww....a purple hippo Pillow Pet from her friend "E."
 And her "big" present....

And even though she can't take it on the airplane,
the bow and arrow from Mama and Dadda
has been fun for everyone!
Kozy has provided some good target practice!

And I think this movie about feisty princess 'Merida'
Brave: in theatres June 22---
yes, you can click on that text to see movie trailer.
will be a hit with our own feisty little princess...
Are you ready to go see this with us G'ma Tree?
....just can't wait to go see it!
Happy 5th Birthday K-Rae!
Next blog, when Mama manages some time.....
An unplanned family event!
